About Cory AI

Cory AI is a Canadian robotics technology company building the world's first hardware-agnostic autonomous humanoid robot intelligence platform for commercial deployment. Founded by Mike Hinbest, Cory AI is deploying intelligent humanoid robots — starting with the Unitree G1 — into real-world commercial environments including quick service restaurants, retail, and service businesses across North America.

We are not a research lab. We are building and deploying production robotics software today. Our platform combines AI-powered voice interaction, XR teleoperation, fleet governance, post-quantum security, and deep POS integration into a multi-tenant SaaS product. Cory AI is headquartered in Caledon Village, Ontario, with active deployment partners in Orangeville, ON.

The Opportunity

This is a rare founding-level opportunity. As our first engineering hire and Chief Technology Officer, you will own the entire technical vision and architecture of Cory AI alongside the CEO. You will have the autonomy to make foundational technology decisions, build and lead the engineering team from the ground up, and directly shape how humanoid robots are deployed at commercial scale.

This role is not for someone who wants to manage from a distance. You will be hands-on — writing code, debugging hardware, standing next to a 130cm humanoid robot in a tea bar, and solving problems nobody has solved before. If you want to build something that matters and you are not afraid to get your hands dirty, this is your role.

What You Will Do

•       Own and evolve the full Cory AI technical stack — robotics control, AI inference, voice pipeline, fleet governance portal, API infrastructure, and XR teleoperation

•       Lead hands-on engineering: write production code, review PRs, debug hardware/software integration, and maintain high standards across the codebase

•       Architect and scale the multi-tenant SaaS governance platform serving commercial robot deployments across multiple partner venues

•       Drive AI/ML strategy — fine-tuning LLMs, deploying NIM containers, optimizing inference on NVIDIA DGX Spark and Jetson Orin hardware

•       Oversee robotics integration with Unitree G1 and H2 hardware including DDS control, ROS2, SDK2, and autonomous behaviour pipelines

•       Build and lead the engineering team as the company scales — hiring, mentoring, and setting culture for a world-class robotics engineering org

•       Partner directly with the CEO on product strategy, investor technical diligence, and enterprise sales engineering

•       Own security architecture including post-quantum cryptography (ML-KEM, ML-DSA) across all robot communications and platform APIs

•       Represent Cory AI externally to partners, enterprise clients (NAPA, Walmart, QSR chains), and the broader robotics and AI community

What We Are Looking For

Required:

•       5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience; 2+ years in a technical leadership or senior architecture role

•       Deep experience with Python and/or C++ in production robotics, AI, or embedded systems environments

•       Proven ability to ship production software — not just prototypes

•       Experience with Linux systems, networking, and hardware/software integration

•       Comfortable working with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, CUDA, LLM inference, NIM containers)

•       Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business partners and enterprise clients

•       Entrepreneurial mindset — thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and takes full ownership

Nice to Have:

•       Experience with ROS2, DDS middleware, or Unitree / Boston Dynamics SDK

•       Background in humanoid or mobile robotics

•       Familiarity with WebRTC, XR/VR teleoperation systems

•       Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography or enterprise security architecture

•       Experience integrating POS systems (Square, Lightspeed) or IoT hardware into SaaS platforms

•       NVIDIA Jetson / DGX hardware experience (ARM64, Grace Blackwell)

•       Prior founding or early-stage startup experience

What We Offer

•       Founding equity — meaningful stake in a company building category-defining technology

•       Competitive base salary commensurate with experience - $200K - $300K CAD

•       Direct partnership with the CEO and co-ownership of the technical vision

•       Access to cutting-edge hardware: Unitree G1, Unitree H2, NVIDIA DGX Spark, Meta Quest 3, UWB, LiDAR, and more

•       Hybrid flexibility — based in or able to work from Caledon Village / Greater Toronto Area

•       The opportunity to be part of a Canadian company changing how the world uses humanoid robots

Our Stack (What You Will Inherit and Evolve)

•       Robotics: Unitree G1 (29 DOF), Inspire DFX 5-finger hands, Livox Mid-360 LiDAR, RealSense D435i, Unitree SDK2, ROS2, CycloneDDS

•       AI / Inference: NVIDIA DGX Spark (GB10 Grace Blackwell, 128GB), Jetson Orin, NIM containers, Parakeet v2 ASR, Riva TTS, Nemotron, Phi-3, Llama 3.1

•       Platform: Multi-tenant SaaS governance portal, Intelligence API, real-time fleet dashboard, WebRTC XR teleoperation

•       Security: Post-quantum cryptography (ML-KEM-768, ML-DSA-87, SLH-DSA), blockchain audit ledger, Ethereum anchoring

•       Integrations: Square POS, OpenAI API, Tailscale, RunPod, LTE/cellular connectivity for edge deployments

•       Infrastructure: Ubuntu 24.04 ARM64, CUDA 12.8, PyTorch, Python, Node.js, Docker
