Chief Strategy Officer
NovusMinds AIFull Description
About NovusMinds
NovusMinds is a newly funded startup building AI-native solutions for the wealth management industry. Powered by Gen AI, large language models, and our proprietary WealthOS platform, we partner with TAMPs, RIAs, and private banks to modernize how financial advice is delivered, portfolios are managed, and client relationships are deepened.
We are backed by industry leaders in wealth management and are assembling a founding team of ambitious operators and builders who want to reshape a multi-trillion-dollar industry. We move fast, think big, and build for the long term.
The Role
We are looking for a Chief Strategy Officer to serve as the architect of NovusMinds' competitive position, growth trajectory, and market narrative. This is one of the most consequential roles at the company, sitting at the intersection of corporate strategy, go-to-market execution, and brand-building.
As CSO, you will own the long-range strategic plan, define how NovusMinds wins in a rapidly evolving AI and wealth management landscape, and lead our overall marketing function from positioning and thought leadership through demand generation and pipeline growth. You will be a key member of the executive team, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO, CTO, and Head of Sales to translate vision into market leadership.
This role is built for an operator-strategist who is equally comfortable developing a three-year market entry plan and personally writing a LinkedIn post that moves the needle. You will own both the thinking and the execution.
What You Will Do
Corporate Strategy & Competitive Positioning
● Define and maintain NovusMinds' overall corporate strategy, setting the long-range roadmap for how the company grows, differentiates, and sustains competitive advantage in the AI-enabled wealth management market.
● Conduct ongoing market analysis: monitor competitive dynamics, track emerging AI capabilities, analyze regulatory shifts, and synthesize signals from clients, partners, and investors into actionable strategic insight.
● Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new market opportunities — including adjacencies, new client segments (family offices, broker-dealers, community banks), and potential partnership or M&A plays as the company scales.
● Own the company's strategic planning cycle: lead annual strategy reviews, set OKRs in collaboration with the CEO and leadership team, and ensure cross-functional alignment on priorities.
● Serve as a key thought partner to the CEO on fundraising strategy, board communications, and investor narratives, ensuring the company's story is consistent, compelling, and backed by data.
Go-to-Market Strategy & Revenue Alignment
● Develop and own the go-to-market strategy for WealthOS and future NovusMinds products — including ideal customer profiles (ICPs), segmentation, pricing strategy, channel mix, and expansion playbooks.
● Work closely with Sales to build pipeline-generating campaigns, partner with Product on launch strategies, and ensure that the GTM motion is tightly aligned to product capabilities and client needs.
● Define and refine NovusMinds' partnership strategy: identify high-leverage relationships with custodians, data providers, wealth platforms, and distribution partners; support deal development and ongoing partnership management.
● Own the revenue marketing function: set targets for marketing-sourced pipeline, track attribution, and continuously optimize how marketing spend converts to qualified opportunities.
● Lead strategic pricing and packaging decisions for NovusMinds products, balancing competitive positioning with revenue optimization and client value.
Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
● Own NovusMinds' overall marketing strategy and function — including brand positioning, thought leadership, content, digital marketing, social media, events, and PR.
● Define and steward the NovusMinds brand identity: ensure consistent, differentiated, and compelling messaging across all channels and touchpoints — from the website and social media to pitch decks and conference presentations.
● Build and lead NovusMinds' content and thought leadership program: develop a point of view on AI in wealth management that earns trust with RIAs, TAMPs, and private banks, and positions NovusMinds as the authoritative voice in the space.
● Oversee digital and demand generation marketing: manage SEO/SEM, email marketing, LinkedIn, paid campaigns, and marketing automation to drive qualified inbound leads and build pipeline.
● Lead product marketing: develop compelling product narratives, sales enablement materials, competitive battlecards, case studies, and ROI frameworks that help the sales team win enterprise deals.
● Build and manage relationships with financial services media, fintech publications, and industry analysts (Celent, Forrester, Aite-Novarica) to drive coverage and category awareness.
● Plan and execute NovusMinds' presence at key industry events (IMPACT, T3, XYPN, Money Management Institute) — including speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and client engagement programs.
● Recruit and develop the marketing team as the company scales, building a lean, high-impact function with the right mix of in-house talent and agency/contractor support.
Thought Leadership & Executive Presence
● Represent NovusMinds as a speaker and panelist at industry conferences, webinars, and media engagements — articulating the company's vision for AI in wealth management with authority and conviction.
● Build NovusMinds' executive thought leadership program: develop the CEO's and leadership team's personal brands on LinkedIn, in trade media, and at events.
● Cultivate an engaged community of practitioners, advisors, and champions in the RIA and TAMP ecosystem through newsletters, webinars, roundtables, and advisory board relationships.
Strategic Finance & Investor Relations Support
● Partner with the CEO to develop and maintain fundraising materials — including investor decks, data room narratives, and strategic memos — ensuring the company's story evolves in step with business milestones.
● Develop rigorous market sizing, TAM/SAM/SOM analyses, and competitive landscape frameworks that support both internal decision-making and external investor conversations.
● Track and report on key business and marketing KPIs across pipeline, brand awareness, market share, and strategic milestones, maintaining a clear view of what is working and what needs to change.
What We Are Looking For
● 12+ years of professional experience, with at least 4 years in a senior strategy, marketing leadership, or C-suite role at a technology company, fintech, or financial services firm.
● Demonstrated track record of developing corporate strategies and go-to-market playbooks that drove measurable revenue growth — not just polished slide decks.
● Deep understanding of the wealth management ecosystem: the workflows, buying behaviors, regulatory pressures, and technology stack of TAMPs, RIAs, broker-dealers, and private banks.
● Proven marketing leadership experience: you have owned brand, content, demand generation, and product marketing for a B2B SaaS or enterprise software company, ideally in financial services or fintech.
● Strong analytical capabilities: you can build a market model, interpret pipeline data, and draw strategic conclusions from ambiguous or incomplete information.
● Exceptional communication and storytelling skills: your writing is crisp, your presentations are compelling, and you know how to tailor a message to a skeptical CFO, an enterprise buyer, or a conference audience of 500 advisors.
● Comfortable operating at both the 30,000-foot level and in the weeds: you can set a three-year strategy and then personally draft the LinkedIn post that launches it.
● A builder's mentality: you thrive in environments where the playbook doesn't exist yet, and you enjoy creating structure, process, and momentum from scratch.
Nice to Have
● Prior CSO, CMO, VP Marketing, or VP Strategy experience at a venture-backed fintech or wealthtech startup.
● Existing relationships with executives at large TAMPs, RIA aggregators, custodians, or independent broker-dealers.
● Experience navigating SEC, FINRA, or state-level compliance requirements as they relate to marketing financial technology products.
● Established thought leadership presence in financial services, fintech, or AI — published writing, conference keynotes, podcast appearances, or a significant LinkedIn following.
● Experience with analyst relations at major financial services research firms (Celent, Aite-Novarica, Forrester, Gartner).
● MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, marketing, or strategy from a leading institution.
