Position: OpenSCAD Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $20–$120/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects from requirements gathering through final model export.
* Structure and document parametric scripts with reusable modules and clearly defined parameters.
* Apply Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) techniques to develop complex 3D models and 2D-to-3D extrusions.
* Rapidly iterate on parametric designs, demonstrating logical, script-driven engineering decisions.
* Prepare and export files (STL, OFF, and other standard formats) for manufacturing or prototyping workflows.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clearly explaining design rationale and technical trade-offs.
* Document professional workflows and thought processes to support AI-driven design initiatives.
Requirements
* Extensive hands-on experience completing full OpenSCAD projects from concept to final export.
* Strong foundation in CAD principles and CSG methodologies.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable CAD tools.
* Experience creating and optimizing reusable parametric modules and scripts.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical clarity.
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment while contributing to team objectives.
* High attention to detail in engineering logic and design progression.
