Bioengineer- Microfluidic Engineer
RevivBioFull Description
About the role:
RevivBio is a venture-backed biotechnology company located at Engine Accelerator in Cambridge, MA.
We have an immediate opening for a scientist with expertise in leveraging droplet microfluidics for high-throughput cell-based assays. This highly motivated scientist will be part of a highly multidisciplinary team (AI/ML, protein engineering, biology), who work collaboratively to develop biologics for crop protection and human health applications.
The successful applicant has deep and demonstrated expertise in drop-based manipulation of single cells (bacteria, yeast, mammalian, and insect cells). This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to grow and influence in a dynamic company focused on the cutting edge of protein engineering technology, while solving real world problems in collaboration with Fortune 500 customers across pharma and ag-biotech.
Key Requirements
⦁ Experience in cell-based assay development and assay integration in emulsion
⦁ Profiency in standard molecular biology techniques, particularly barcode PCR and sample prep for NGS
⦁ Experience with fluorescence-based microscopy
⦁ Experience with flow cytometry and/or FACS is a plus
⦁ Experience with microcapsules, or hydrogels is a plus
⦁ Familiarity with NGS sequencing
⦁ PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields is required
⦁ 1+ years of postdoctoral experience in academia or industrial setting is a plus
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Design, develop and execute microfluidic-enabled ultrahigh throughput cell-based assay for peptide and protein-based biologics
⦁ Design microfluidic devices in CAD software and perform device fabrication
⦁ Execute molecular biology experiments including PCR and library preparation for sequencing
⦁ Analyze the data, and report to internal and external stakeholders. Document work using ELNs and write SOPs.
