Full Description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Automation Design Engineer in the United States.

This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced automation and control systems that power mission-critical data center environments.

You will contribute to the development of reliable, scalable, and highly efficient automation solutions supporting large-scale infrastructure operations.

Working in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment, you will help translate technical requirements into robust control system designs.

The position blends electrical engineering, PLC programming, and SCADA development with strong emphasis on system integration and standardization.

You will play a key role in supporting both new construction projects and upgrades to existing live environments.

The work requires close coordination with engineering, operations, and field teams to ensure system performance and reliability.

Overall, this is a hands-on engineering role with direct impact on the stability and efficiency of critical digital infrastructure.

Accountabilities

* Design, develop, and implement automation and control system solutions for data center infrastructure projects.

* Program PLC systems (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and develop SCADA/HMI applications using platforms such as Ignition.

* Review and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and sequences of operation to translate requirements into functional automation logic.

* Create and maintain AutoCAD-based electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

* Support system commissioning, startup, validation, and troubleshooting in live mission-critical environments.

* Collaborate with engineering, operations, construction, and field teams to ensure successful project execution.

* Develop standardized and reusable automation components aligned with engineering best practices.

* Provide technical support to field technicians and assist senior engineers in resolving system issues.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

* 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or SCADA development.

* Hands-on experience with PLC programming, particularly Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, RSLogix).

* Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design, including schematics and control panel layouts.

* Experience developing SCADA/HMI systems, preferably using Ignition (Inductive Automation).

* Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, control loops, instrumentation, and electrical fundamentals.

* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as P&IDs and electrical diagrams.

* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus) and standards (NFPA, UL, NEC).

* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.

* Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities and occasional travel up to approximately 25%.

Benefits

* Competitive base salary around $115,000-$125,000 USD, plus bonus eligibility.

* Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.

* Life insurance, AD&D coverage, and short- and long-term disability benefits.

* Retirement savings plan with 401(k) and company match.

* Paid time off and additional voluntary benefits supporting work-life balance.

* Learning and development opportunities in a high-growth technical environment.

* Inclusive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.

* Exposure to large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects with strong career growth potential.
