Job Title: Speech Transcription & Audio Segmentation
Location: Remote - Worldwide
Hours Required: Minimum 16 hours per week
Description
We are seeking candidates with fluency in one of the following languages: Hmong, Lu Mien (Iu Mien), or Kuki-Chin Mizo, to support a remote speech data project focused on audio transcription and segmentation annotation.
In this role, participants will convert audio recordings into accurate written transcripts and structured audio segments to help train advanced AI speech recognition and machine learning systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Transcribe audio recordings accurately following project guidelines
* Capture relevant speech and non-speech sounds when required
* Apply speaker and language labels to speech segments
* Segment audio files using timestamps and structural boundaries
* Label segment types: Speech, Babble, Music, and Noise
* Identify conversational turns, utterances, phrases, and sound boundaries
* Ensure high-quality, consistent output across long-form audio files (60–90 minutes)
Requirements
* Fluency in in one of the following languages: Hmong, Lu Mien, Kuki-Chin Mizo.
* Strong listening, writing, grammar, and contextual understanding
* High attention to detail and typing accuracy
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Prior experience in transcription, annotation, interpretation, or AI data labeling is a plus
* Familiarity with speaker labeling and timestamp-based segmentation is preferred
