Position: Open Source Applied Engineer

Type: Hourly contract

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

* Design and oversee evaluations for coding tasks across multiple programming languages

* Develop robust test cases to assess system performance in diverse engineering scenarios

* Analyze system behavior on real-world use cases to identify strengths and improvement areas

* Communicate evaluation findings clearly to research teams to support optimization

* Contribute expertise to improve scalability, performance, and code quality

Requirements

* Strong experience contributing to open-source projects with a consistent, high-quality contribution record

* Strong experience with one or more programming languages including Python, Java, C, JavaScript, or TypeScript

* Strong familiarity with widely used libraries, frameworks, and development tools

* Strong understanding of software architecture, performance tuning, and scalable design patterns

* Strong experience using Git, CI/CD systems, and open-source collaboration workflows

* Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in distributed, asynchronous teams
