Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer with a strong background in precision circuits and proficiency in digital design using Verilog and SystemVerilog. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing cutting-edge technologies, focusing on high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuit design while seamlessly integrating digital functionality into our systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, simulate, and optimize precision analog circuits, including bandgap references, voltage/current regulators, DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters), and ADCs (Analog-to-Digital Converters).
* Perform detailed circuit analysis and verification to ensure performance, accuracy, and reliability of designs.
* Collaborate on mixed-signal system architecture, integrating analog and digital components for optimal performance.
* Develop and verify digital logic designs using Verilog and SystemVerilog for mixed-signal systems.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of analog and digital designs into larger systems.
* Conduct design reviews, documentation, and validation to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
* Participate in the development of test methodologies and support testing of prototypes and production systems.
Required Qualifications
* Proven expertise in designing and optimizing precision analog circuits such as bandgaps, voltage/current references, DACs, ADCs, and regulators.
* Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog, with experience in digital design and verification.
* Solid understanding of mixed-signal design principles, including noise analysis, signal integrity, and power management.
* Familiarity with industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, etc.) for analog and mixed-signal design.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex circuit and system-level issues.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with low-power circuit design and optimization.
* Knowledge of silicon process technologies and device physics.
* Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, TCL, Cadence Skill) for automation in testing and simulation.
* Prior experience in FPGA or ASIC development is a plus.
Education
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Pay Range: The annual salary range for this position is $114,000 - $182,000 CAD.
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
