At 4MP, we are building a new technological foundation for manufacturing.
Our systems enable CNC machines to self-measure, self-correct, and continuously improve their performance — transforming conventional machine tools into autonomous precision systems.
This requires more than algorithms.
It requires a coherent intelligence architecture that integrates physics models, machine data, and AI reasoning into a unified decision layer.
We are now looking for an AI Architect and Technical Lead to define and build that architecture.
This role will shape how intelligence flows through the entire 4MP platform — from sensor data ingestion to machine-code interpretation, error modeling, and autonomous correction.
We are not looking for someone to manage AI.
We are looking for someone who designs intelligent systems from the ground up.
The Mission
Design the AI architecture that enables machines to interpret manufacturing intent, understand system deviations, and autonomously generate corrective actions.
You will define how AI interacts with physics-based models, machine telemetry, and CNC program structures to create a new generation of intelligent manufacturing systems.

AI architecture for interpreting and modifying CNC programs
Systems that extract machining intent from machine-code despite operator variability
Learning frameworks that combine physics-based models with AI reasoning
Feedback systems that learn from machine corrections and production results
AI infrastructure that scales across machines globally
Data architecture for capturing and structuring manufacturing intelligence
Simulation environments for training and validating autonomous correction models
Multi-layer AI systems that enable expansion into adjacent manufacturing layers
Role Nature: Platform-Level AI Leadership
This role operates at the intersection of AI architecture, industrial systems, and platform design.
You will work directly with leadership across:
* Geometry and metrology systems
* Machine physics modeling
* CNC / CAM integration
* Data infrastructure
* Platform engineering
You will define how AI becomes a foundational layer of autonomous manufacturing.

Technical Requirements (Must-Have)
Deep experience designing AI system architectures
Strong understanding of machine learning, optimization, and statistical modeling
Experience building production-grade AI infrastructure
Background in designing learning systems interacting with physical processes
Strong experience with data pipelines, model orchestration, and system integration
Proficiency in Python and systems-level languages (C++, Rust, Go)
Experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX)
Strong understanding of model validation, feedback loops, and continuous learning
Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Experience & Education
Required
10+ years of experience in advanced software engineering, machine learning architecture, or intelligent systems design
Demonstrated experience designing AI platforms deployed in production
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related discipline
Experience in robotics, industrial systems, or physical simulation
Experience with reinforcement learning or control systems
Experience building AI architectures for complex technical platforms
Strong Plus
Experience with physics-informed machine learning
Experience integrating AI with sensor systems and real-world telemetry
Background in industrial automation or robotics
Experience with digital twins and simulation-based training
Experience designing AI platforms that scale across distributed systems
