About VerifAIX

VerifAIX is a well-funded, venture-backed startup building an agentic AI platform for semiconductor design verification—automating workflows from specification to verification closure. Founded by industry veterans in semiconductor and EDA, together with leading researchers in AI and formal verification, we are redefining how chip verification is done.

We are looking for an AI Software Engineer to help build the core software and AI systems behind our platform. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, developer infrastructure, and semiconductor verification, and to help define the technical foundation of the company.

Why This Role Is Exciting

You will work directly with the founding team to build production systems that combine LLM-powered reasoning, multi-agent orchestration, deterministic verification algorithms, developer tools, and semiconductor/EDA workflows. This is a highly hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who likes building real systems, moving fast, and solving difficult technical problems with real customer impact.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and build backend systems and APIs that power agentic AI workflows for semiconductor design verification.

• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents that automate complex chip design tasks.

• Build and maintain integrations with databases (SQL, NoSQL, vector databases) to support data pipelines and RAG.

• Implement multi-agent workflows.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with deep proficiency in Python and modern software development practices.

• Hands-on experience with various Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI GPT models, Claude, LLaMA, Gemini including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation.

• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning architectures, and model training and inference optimization.

• Solid expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including text extraction, summarization, classification, entity recognition, and semantic search.

• Experience building AI agents with orchestration frameworks including tool calling, retrieval, and eval loops.

• Experience designing backend systems, services, workflows, and asynchronous architectures.

• Familiarity with database technologies including relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL stores, and vector databases.

• Experience integrating with external tools, APIs, and automation platforms; familiarity with EDA tools is a strong plus.

• Ability to work across systems and product boundaries and deliver end to end.

• Comfort in a startup environment with speed, ambiguity, and ownership.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, ECE, or equivalent practical experience; PhD is a plus.

• 2+ years of experience building and shipping LLM-enabled or AI-native products.

• Demonstrated experience with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar).

• Startup experience or success in high-ownership engineering environments is a plus.

• Experience in semiconductor, EDA, or hardware verification domains is a strong plus.
