About the Role

We are looking for an AI Product Engineer who can bridge product strategy and technical execution. This is a hands-on role for someone who can take an ambiguous opportunity, shape the product direction, and build AI-powered systems that are reliable, scalable, and useful in the real world.

You will help define and ship AI-native product experiences across agents, retrieval systems, orchestration layers, workflow automation, and evaluation frameworks. You will not just build features. You will help define how intelligent product systems should work end to end.

This role is ideal for someone who thinks like a product leader, builds like an engineer, and understands that great AI products require more than plugging in a model.

What You’ll DoBuild AI-Native Product Experiences

* Design and ship AI-powered product capabilities from concept to production

* Build across agents, RAG pipelines, orchestration layers, reasoning flows, and workflow automation

* Translate product opportunities into scalable technical systems and user-facing experiences

* Prototype quickly, validate value, and evolve features based on user and business outcomes

Connect Product Thinking to Engineering Execution

* Work across product, design, engineering, and data to define what should be built and why

* Turn ambiguous ideas into clear requirements, product flows, and implementation plans

* Balance quality, latency, cost, reliability, and user trust in system design

* Help define the product logic, not just the code

Engineer Reliability and Scale

* Implement schema validation, guardrails, retries, fallbacks, and failure containment

* Design stateful AI workflows that manage context, session continuity, and tool interactions safely

* Create evaluation loops for quality benchmarking, regression testing, and continuous improvement

* Build observability into AI systems through logging, telemetry, tracing, and monitoring

Help Define the Foundation

* Contribute to the architecture and standards behind AI product development at Projectz AI

* Establish reusable patterns for product integrations, APIs, prompts, tools, and system workflows

* Improve how we build by bringing structure, urgency, and high engineering judgment

* Mentor others through clear thinking, strong execution, and product-first decision making

What You Bring

You are strong in both product and engineering. You know how to think through the user problem, define the workflow, and build the system behind it. You do not treat AI like magic. You treat it like a product system that must be designed, tested, and improved deliberately.

* 1-8+ years building software products, AI-powered applications, or internal platforms

* Strong experience with LLMs, agents, RAG systems, orchestration frameworks, or AI workflow products

* Ability to move from ambiguous idea to working product with clear technical and product judgment

* Experience building product features that interact with APIs, tools, models, or external systems

* Strong understanding of product tradeoffs across UX, technical feasibility, reliability, and business value

* Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and stakeholders

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Technical Experience We Value

* Python and/or TypeScript for application and integration logic

* Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or custom agent loops

* RAG systems, hybrid retrieval, chunking, re-ranking, and vector databases

* Structured output enforcement using tools such as Pydantic, Zod, or JSON Schema

* REST, GraphQL, or RPC API design and integration

* Async systems, queues, and event-driven workflows

* SQL, data modeling, and query optimization

* Docker, cloud infrastructure, and production service deployment

* Observability, telemetry, tracing, and evaluation systems for AI applications (LangSmith)

Nice to Have

* Experience building AI copilots, internal AI tools, or multi-agent workflows

* Experience with product analytics, experimentation, and evaluation design

* Experience shipping 0 to 1 products in startup or high-ambiguity environments

* Familiarity with model quality evaluation, prompt testing, and regression monitoring

* Ability to build lightweight frontend prototypes for faster product validation
