Overview
The AI Innovation + Ops Manager leads the identification, prioritization, and execution of AI-driven modernization initiatives across operations‑heavy functions. This role blends hands-on AI implementation, change leadership, and operational fluency to embed AI into everyday workflows in practical, measurable ways. Success is defined by adoption, outcomes, and durable internal capability.
Type: Direct hire, remote, you need to be based in an EST state for travel and team schedule
Pay: $125,000 - $145,000 depending on experience
AI Innovation + Ops Manager Requirements
* 5 to 8 years of experience leading AI or digital transformation in operations‑intensive environments such as manufacturing, distribution, logistics, field services, or industrial operations.
* Deep operational fluency across functions including operations, procurement, logistics, customer service, scheduling, and field execution.
* Proven ability to work directly with frontline teams and senior leaders, earning trust through hands‑on delivery and practical mindset.
* Strong working knowledge of AI and automation tools, including workflow automation, AI‑driven analytics, LLM‑based productivity tools, data integration, and advanced prompt design.
* Experience sourcing and managing external technology and transformation partners, with accountability tied to business outcomes rather than deliverables alone.
* Strong project management capability, able to run multiple parallel initiatives across functions.
* Preferred exposure to field installation, logistics, IoT or connected data, industrial or B2B environments, and highly governed operating models.
AI Innovation + Ops Manager Duties
* Partner with functional leaders to map current processes and identify high‑value AI opportunities, translating business needs into solutions such as automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent customer interactions.
* Build and maintain a company‑wide AI roadmap, sequenced by impact, feasibility, and strategic priority.
* Personally design, test, and refine AI prompts, workflows, and tools, staying hands-on through implementation and adoption rather than delegating execution.
* Teach and coach employees at all levels to build AI literacy, reduce anxiety, and demonstrate how AI removes friction and frees time for higher‑value work.
* Act as a change agent, guiding teams from legacy processes to AI‑enabled workflows with empathy, clear outcomes, and visible early wins.
* Track adoption and results, continuously refining approaches based on performance data and real-world feedback.
* Evaluate, source, and manage external AI vendors and specialists for larger initiatives, holding partners accountable while ensuring internal knowledge transfer.
* Collaborate with commercial teams on AI‑powered sales and marketing tools, and support connected data and analytics initiatives tied to emerging digital programs.
