Role Description

We are seeking an AI Engineering Manager and Solutions Architect - Gen AI to join our team full-time at our Trincomalee location. This role involves overseeing and managing AI engineering teams to deliver innovative AI-driven solutions. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing machine learning models, designing AI architectures, analyzing data for actionable insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align AI projects with business goals. In addition, the role will require ensuring best practices in AI implementation and working directly with clients to understand and address their requirements using cutting-edge AI technologies.

Requirements

* Work with clients to design, develop, and deploy new architectures to support machine learning & automation applications

* Leverage advanced technical skills in modern data architecture, data science engineering, data transformation, and management of structured and unstructured data sources using cloud computing or on-prem technologies

* Design and lead development on scalable, high-performance data architecture solutions that supports both the client business as well as AI/GenAI use cases

* Build robust orchestration and automation workflows integrating multi-agent capabilities.

* Develop and maintain pipelines for training, benchmarking, validating, and deploying LLMs and autonomous agents into production environments.

* Conduct prompt engineering and fine-tuning of LLMs for domain-specific tasks.

* Evaluate and iterate model performance based on metrics and user feedback

* Define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of new data and cloud technology solutions

* Display strong thought leadership and execution in pursuit of modern data architecture principles and technology modernization

* Mentor, motivate, and coach junior members on technical best practices and inspire professional development

* Own the continuous optimization of system prompts and instructions for LLMs (Gemini, OpenAI, Grok, Claude, Co-Pilot, DeepSeek, Perplexity) to ensure Velo's response is accurate, tone is consistent, and on-brand.

Qualifications

* Proficiency in Data Science, including statistical analysis and data visualization techniques

* Strong Analytical Skills and practical experience with data-driven decision-making

* Expertise in Machine Learning, including model development and evaluation

* Skills in Data Mining and large-scale data processing

* Experience in designing AI architectures and solutions aligned with business objectives

* Exceptional problem-solving abilities and ability to lead technical teams

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

* Familiarity with AI tools and frameworks

* Experience in digital marketing with Social Media Automations is a plus

* Experience in eCommerce platforms Automations is a plus
