This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AI Engineering Leader in the United States.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and productionization of advanced AI and machine learning systems that transform how healthcare data is structured, connected, and used for decision-making. You will operate at the intersection of architecture, engineering leadership, and applied AI innovation, translating complex healthcare and data challenges into scalable, production-ready solutions. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will define technical direction, establish AI engineering standards, and guide the full lifecycle of ML systems from experimentation to deployment. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will mentor engineering teams, shape AI strategy, and drive the adoption of responsible, secure, and high-performing AI capabilities. You will also evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve platform intelligence and enable next-generation use cases in healthcare analytics and automation.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, and delivery of AI/ML systems from concept through production, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives. You will define technical standards and best practices for AI engineering, while guiding teams in model development, deployment, and lifecycle management.

* Lead end-to-end design and implementation of AI/ML systems across production environments.

* Define engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices for scalable AI solutions.

* Translate complex healthcare and data problems into structured, executable AI engineering strategies.

* Guide model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring across the full ML lifecycle.

* Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define AI roadmap and technical direction.

* Mentor engineers across levels and elevate overall AI engineering maturity across teams.

* Ensure responsible AI practices, including security, privacy, compliance, and governance.

* Evaluate emerging AI technologies and drive innovation initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

You bring deep technical expertise in data engineering, machine learning, and AI system design, combined with proven leadership experience guiding teams through complex production deployments. You are highly analytical, collaborative, and skilled at translating ambiguous business problems into clear technical execution plans.

* 8-10+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or AI/ML architecture roles.

* 2+ years of experience in technical leadership or engineering management roles.

* Proven track record of building and deploying ML/AI systems in production environments.

* Strong experience with modern data and AI platforms, including Databricks or similar ecosystems.

* Familiarity with RAG architectures, SQL agents, and emerging AI frameworks.

* Strong ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence across teams.

* Excellent problem-solving, system design, and cross-functional communication skills.

* Experience in healthcare data, regulated environments, or enterprise-scale systems is a plus.
