Our challenge

We are seeking a seasoned, hands‑on AI Engineer / AI Scientist to lead and execute Generative AI initiatives across Quantitative and Technology Services. This role focuses on building advanced agentic AI frameworks and deploying front‑to‑back AI solutions tailored for complex Capital Markets use cases.

The ideal candidate will be a technical leader and primary contributor, capable of designing, building, and operationalizing end‑to‑end AI systems while mentoring team members and establishing best practices.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

Design and build agentic Generative AI frameworks for Capital Markets use cases such as:

* Summarization and research insights

* Conversational AI and intelligent assistants

* Information extraction from structured and unstructured data

Apply Generative AI techniques to solve real‑world problems across Quant, Research, Banking, Sales, and Trading

Embed LLM‑based solutions into existing Capital Markets platforms and tools

Act as a hands‑on technical lead, owning architecture, model development, and implementation

Guide team members through design reviews, code reviews, and AI best practices

Collaborate closely with Quant teams, product partners, engineers, and business stakeholders

Lead AI experimentation, hypothesis testing, evaluation frameworks, and iterative model improvement

Build and manage end‑to‑end AI Operations (MLOps) including deployments, monitoring, evaluation, and performance tracking

Ensure reliability, scalability, and explainability of AI systems used in regulated financial environments

Requirements:

PhD or master’s degree in computer science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or equivalent practical experience

7+ years of hands‑on experience building ML / Deep Learning models

In‑depth expertise in:

* Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI

* Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Information Extraction

Strong experience with:

* Embeddings, re‑rankers, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and agentic frameworks

* Inference optimization, fine‑tuning strategies, and model architectures

Proven ability to be the primary technical contributor while mentoring and guiding the team

Strong experience in front‑to‑back AI operations, including:

* Experimentation

* Model evaluation

* Performance monitoring and lifecycle management

Excellent understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures

Knowledge of distributed computing systems

Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred, but not required:

Prior experience in Banking or Capital Markets, particularly within Technology and Operations teams
