About the Role

The AI Engineer role is focused on developing and deploying AI agents that automate complex workflows within the company’s platform. This position involves building and maintaining the infrastructure, backend and frontend services, and integrating AI functionality to enhance user-facing features. The role is critical for shaping the system architecture and ensuring AI capabilities align with product goals, contributing directly to the deployment of reliable, production-grade AI agents used by enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

- Develop and deploy AI agents to automate workflows across the platform

- Build tools and infrastructure to power, monitor, and maintain agents in production

- Design and implement backend and frontend services, APIs, and data pipelines with AI integration

- Contribute to system architecture and core platform design with engineering teams

- Collaborate with Product, Data Engineering, Backend, and Frontend teams for AI alignment

- Design and maintain evaluations and benchmarks for agent accuracy, reliability, and cost-effectiveness

- Optimize inference pipelines and backend systems for speed, scalability, and cost

- Manage AI safety and governance including guardrails, audit logging, fallback logic, and access controls

Requirements

- At least 3 years of software engineering experience building and shipping LLM-powered applications in SaaS environments

- Experience in startup, growth-stage, or SaaS platforms in agile settings

- Hands-on experience with production AI agents using LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph or LangChain)

- Familiarity with agentic AI patterns including tool/function calling, multi-agent orchestration, memory management, and MCP

- Proficiency in Python and backend API development

- Data engineering or analytics experience with pipelines, transformations, and querying data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)

- Solid understanding of NLP concepts including tokenization, embeddings, semantic similarity, and language model processing

- Experience building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines integrating LLMs with structured data

- Skill in prompt engineering with systematic design and structured outputs

- Evaluation and observability mindset for measuring and monitoring agent behavior

Nice to Have

- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector, Weaviate) or data warehouses like Snowflake

- Familiarity with AI guardrail frameworks such as Guardrails AI, NeMo Guardrails, or LlamaGuard

- Exposure to fine-tuning techniques including LoRA, PEFT, or instruction tuning

- Experience as a founding or first AI engineer

Compensation

$140,000 — $220,000 USD annually

Salary range depends on experience and relevant factors.
