Frontier AI startup building state-of-the-art agentic systems that can execute real digital work inside enterprise software. Well-funded, with a value prop combining cutting-edge research (in computer use and proprietary models) with forward-deployed implementation alongside enterprise clients.

You'd be joining the Agent team – a small, high-calibre group building the systems and tooling that actually makes agents work in production. This is engineering embedded in research - the model team trains the models; the agent team builds everything around them.

What you'll do

* Build and improve agent logic: planning, tool use, skills, memory, orchestration

* Design and implement retrieval systems (RAG) that allow agents to access and reason over large knowledge bases and enterprise data

* Build low-latency, reliable entity retrieval pipelines across structured and unstructured data sources

* Work on internal and academic benchmarks to measure and push agent performance

* Translate research ideas into working systems (tool calling, new agent capabilities, training signals)

* Build and evolve the in-house agent stack used across the organisation

* Partner closely with researchers to turn ideas into production-ready agent behaviour

* Iterate quickly, experiment often, and own problems end-to-end

What you'll need

* Senior-level engineering experience from a high-bar environment (top AI lab, scale-up, or Big Tech)

* Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills

* Experience building RAG or large-scale retrieval systems in production (latency, throughput, accuracy, relevance)

* Interest in agentic AI - prior agent experience is helpful but not mandatory

* Proactive, autonomous, and creative - you spot gaps and fill them

* Comfortable working in fast-moving, loosely specified problem spaces
