About the Role

Read Write X is a human-centered AI collaborative writing startup focused on helping executives and subject matter experts become thought leaders. We are seeking a Technical AI Editorial Lead with a deep background in technical publishing to manage the developmental mapping and framing of a highly technical cybersecurity textbook.

This is an "AI-augmented" role for a professional who understands the pedagogical flow of technical textbooks. You will act as the "human-in-the-loop," utilizing our workflow to translate a 300-page doctoral dissertation into a structured, 400-page educational resource. Your value lies in your ability to apply O’Reilly-level standards to complex technical research.

Key Responsibilities

* Technical Book Mapping: Convert dense doctoral research into a pedagogical textbook structure, including chapter hierarchies, learning objectives, and use-case placement.

* AI Orchestration & Training: Use Gemini and Claude to ingest research and generate frameworks. You must be willing to document your process via screen recordings and prompt logs to assist in our internal workflow optimization.

* LaTeX Production: Manage the book’s organizational skeleton directly within Overleaf, utilizing both code and visual editors.

* Cybersecurity Editorial Oversight: Audit AI outputs for technical logic and flow specifically related to ethical hacking, vulnerability research, and exploit development.

* IP & Disclosure Compliance: Maintain a rigorous audit trail of synthetic versus human-written data for publisher copyright requirements.

Required Qualifications

* Technical Publishing Background: Proven track record in textbook development or senior technical editing at a scientific/academic publishing house (e.g., O'Reilly, Pearson, No Starch Press).

* Cybersecurity Familiarity: Deep comfort with the terminology and structure of cybersecurity content, including code snippets and technical dissertations.

* Overleaf/LaTeX Mastery: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Overleaf is required; you must be able to structure a multi-chapter project in a LaTeX environment.

* AI Workflow Integration: Practical experience using LLMs for structural organization and content mapping.

* Pedagogical Design: Understanding of how to transition content from "academic defense" to "educational textbook".

Project Details

* Timeline: Strict 30-day window with a minimum 12.5-hour weekly commitment.

* Focus: This project is strictly for the development of one cybersecurity/ethical hacking textbook based on completed doctoral research.

* Scope: You will lead the organizational framework; technical content will be supported by subject matter experts.

To Apply: Please submit your resume, a list of textbooks or technical titles you have developed/published, and a brief description of your current AI workflow for technical editing.
