AI Deployment Accelerator
Freight HeroFull Description
About Freight Hero
FreightHero is an AI-native services company, built to support the freight brokerage industry, which is in dire need of it. Robin, our autonomous AI agent, handles back-office work end to end. Our Heroes, a sharp human-in-the-loop team, catch the edge cases. Brokers pay us per load, see ROI in weeks, and reassign or eliminate the teams they used to rent.
We are backed by incredible investors, including Andrew Ng's AI Fund and supply chain specialists Dynamo Ventures.
The thesis is proven. What is next is growth, and that means building a team of incredible people around us to push the company to the next level. The product is real, the customers are real, the revenue is real, and joining now means shaping how this company runs.
About the Role
As the AI Deployment Accelerator, you will build and operate the internal AI agents that automate Freight Hero's own back office and cross-functional workflows. Distinct from the product. This is the AI we use to run ourselves: recruiting agents, reporting agents, finance agents, sales support agents, and whatever else we figure out is worth automating as we go.
You will spend your time across three threads. First, building. You will prototype and ship new internal agents on an ongoing basis, identifying the highest leverage workflows across the company and turning them into working systems. Second, the connective tissue. You will build and maintain the infrastructure, integrations, and evals that keep these agents running reliably in production. Third, evangelizing. You will work with people across functions to help them understand what is possible, how to use the agents you have built, and where the next opportunities are. Roughly equal measure across all three.
You will not be walking into an established playbook. You will be building it. The role rewards autonomy, hunger, and the ability to get something working end to end without waiting to be told how. We are open to recent graduates and early career operators who have been building seriously on their own.
What Success Looks Like
A high-functioning AI Deployment Accelerator at FreightHero looks like this:
* Internal AI agents are deployed across the company and people actively use them. The agents are not science projects, they are part of how teams work.
* The infrastructure that runs these agents is reliable. Evals are in place, performance is measured, and breakages are caught before users feel them.
* New agents ship at a steady cadence. There is always a pipeline of next builds, prioritized by leverage.
* The team understands what AI can and cannot do for them. People across functions know how to ask for help and how to use what you have built.
* FreightHero runs more effectively because of you. The CEO can point to specific functions that are leaner, faster, or better-informed than they would be without internal AI.
Your job is to make all five of those things true.
Key Responsibilities:
Building Internal Agents
* Prototype and ship internal AI agents on an ongoing basis, targeting the workflows with the highest leverage across recruiting, finance, reporting, sales support, customer success, operations, and beyond.
* Move fast from idea to working system. Lean toward shipping rough versions and iterating over building polished things slowly.
* Continuously hunt for the next opportunity. Sit with people across functions, watch how they work, find the loops worth automating.
Infrastructure and Connective Tissue
* Build and maintain the infrastructure these agents run on, including tooling, integrations, deployment, and observability.
* Own the eval framework. Define how each agent is measured, build the evals, and use them to drive ongoing improvement.
* Keep agents running reliably in production. Catch issues, debug, fix.
* Manage integrations with the SaaS tools we already use (Slack, Google Workspace, our CRM, our HRIS, our finance tools, and so on).
Internal Evangelism and Enablement
* Work side by side with people across the company to roll out new agents, train them on how to use them, and gather feedback.
* Champion AI adoption inside the company, helping every function understand what is possible and how to leverage what is already built.
* Be the go-to person for "can we automate this?" conversations across the team.
AI-Forward Ways of Working
* Live the thing you are building. Use AI tools and agents constantly in your own work, both ones you have built and best in class third-party tools.
* Stay current on the agentic landscape. The frontier moves weekly and you should be moving with it.
* Continuously look for ways to use AI to do your job faster, more accurately, and at greater scale
What We Are Looking For
* 1 to 4 years of experience, or a recent graduate with a serious portfolio of AI agent work.
* Strong technical fluency with the current AI tooling landscape
* A builder's mindset. You ship things. Your portfolio, GitHub, or side projects show real working systems, not just experiments and tutorials.
* Comfortable with code. You do not need to be a senior software engineer, but you can write Python, work with APIs, ship a deployment, and read other people's code without panic.
* Strong product instincts. You can look at a workflow and identify where AI fits, where it does not, and what the highest-leverage cut is.
* Strong communicator. You can explain technical concepts to non-technical people, gather requirements without making people feel interrogated, and write documentation that actually gets read.
* Hungry for autonomy. You are excited by the idea of owning an entire function without an existing playbook, and you do not need a manager to tell you what to do every day.
* Genuinely curious. You read about AI on weekends. You experiment on your own. You are excited about where this field is going.
* If you have a GitHub or portfolio, send it. We will dive into it
Why Freight Hero
* Work directly with the CEO and a peer team building the operational backbone of an AI-native company.
* Get in on the ground level of a venture-backed startup with strong PMF signal and real customer traction.
* A front-row seat to the agentic AI frontier. You will be building with the same tools the most cutting-edge AI companies use, on real problems that matter to a real business.
* Compensation that is fair for the experience level, plus equity in a venture-backed company with significant upside.
* A clear path forward. As the breadth of internal agents grows, your scope grows with it. The role expands by impact, not by adding people beneath you.
