The Agentic AI Architect is a senior technical consulting role responsible for architecting, designing, governing, and guiding the implementation of artificial intelligence solutions that enable Covenant clients to realize business value from AI technologies. This role serves as a bridge between business objectives and advanced technical capabilities, translating client needs into scalable, secure, and responsible AI architectures.

The Agentic AI Architect partners closely with consultants, engineers, and client stakeholders to architect end-to-end solutions leveraging Microsoft technologies such as Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft 365 Copilot. This role also contributes to Covenant’s internal AI standards, delivery patterns, and thought leadership.

The work location for this role is flexible if approved by Covenant except this position may not be performed remotely from Colorado or California.

Responsibilities:

* Architect and design end-to-end AI solutions aligned to client business objectives and Covenant delivery standards.

* Translate client requirements into scalable, secure, and production-ready AI architectures

* Lead architectural decisions for solutions leveraging Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

* Define architectural patterns for data ingestion, model orchestration, integration, and deployment.

* Ensure solutions adhere to AI governance, security, privacy, and responsible AI principles.

* Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and consultants during solution delivery.

* Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical guidance across AI engagements.

* Support pre-sales activities, including solution design, technical discovery, and scoping.

* Mentor team members on AI architecture best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Education, License or Certification:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

* Microsoft certifications preferred, including AI-102 Azure AI Engineer Associate (required prerequisite) and the AB-100 Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect (Expert) as the target credential; PL-200 Power Platform Functional Consultant and AB-620 AI Agent Builder Associate are also valued

Experience:

* 6+ years of experience in software, cloud, or data engineering roles

* 3+ years architecting AI, machine learning, or data-driven solutions in production environments

* Experience designing and delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure

* Prior consulting or client-facing experience strongly preferred

* Familiarity with AI governance, security, and operational monitoring

Technical Skills:

* AI & LLM foundations: prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, ReAct and chain-of-thought patterns, and problem decomposition for multi-agent systems

* Microsoft agentic platforms: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, declarative agents, Azure AI Foundry, and Semantic Kernel

* Agent protocols and interoperability, including Model Context Protocol (MCP), A2A, and tool/function calling

* Agentic security aligned to OWASP ASI01–ASI10, including prompt injection defense, data exfiltration controls, and identity for agents

* SharePoint Embedded (SPE) and SPFx for enterprise content and agent hosting

* Azure infrastructure and DevOps: identity, networking, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and monitoring

* Languages and frameworks: TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, and C#

* Agent governance, testing (unit, behavioral, adversarial, and compliance), and Agent Store publishing
