Compensation: $50 - $150/hour

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deploy 2D games using the Defold engine with a focus on performance and minimal build sizes
* Implement gameplay mechanics and systems using Lua scripting in a modular architecture
* Collaborate with designers and artists to iterate on prototypes and refine user experience
* Optimize games for performance across mobile and web platforms
* Maintain efficient, well-documented code and follow best practices in game development
* Debug, profile, and resolve performance issues to ensure stable game releases
* Contribute creative solutions to technical challenges and provide input on gameplay and UI improvements
Requirements
* Experience developing and shipping 2D games using the Defold engine
* Proficiency in Lua scripting and understanding of component-based game architectures
* Experience producing lightweight, performance-optimized builds for mobile and web platforms
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
* Ability to iterate quickly and deliver results in an agile development environment
* Understanding of deployment processes for multiple platforms
* Strong attention to detail and focus on creating engaging user experiences
* Experience with cross-platform deployment and optimization
* Familiarity with continuous integration and automated testing for games
* Portfolio of released 2D games or prototypes
